PLOS One Study Finds Increased Risk of Heart Attack Following Testosterone Treatment

Earlier this year, the Public Library of Science (PLOS One) published findings from a study examining men who used testosterone products like AndroGel®. The study examined over 55,000 men who were prescribed testosterone by their doctors. According to the results, men aged 65 and older doubled their risk of heart attack in the 90 days after filling their first testosterone prescription. Additionally, men under 65 years old with heart conditions nearly tripled their risk of heart attack after using testosterone therapy.

The most disturbing aspect of these findings is that the manufacturers of these testosterone products neglected to warn patients about these dangers. According to the lawsuits filed by our legal team at Morelli Law Firm, the drug companies "failed to provide an adequate warning to consumers and their health care providers of the product, knowing the product could cause serious injury."
